The John Cage Trust

2012 is the centenary of John Cage's birth. This anniversary has brought world-wide attention to the John Cage Trust, the official representative of Cage's estate and works. To help celebrate this birthday, we have designed a new website for the Trust with a number of unique features, including:

  • A searchable database of Cage's work
  • A searchable database of Cage performances throughout the world.
  • A unique "friendsonomy" that allows the sharing of memories of John.

City of San Francisco Official Arts Site

The top ranked official arts events website of the City of San Francisco, this Northern California resource features more than 1,000 fully searchable events at any one time. It also features hundreds of editorial highlights written by prominent San Francisco arts writers. The website database supporting the website iOS and Android apps as well as the arts event listings of SanFrancisco.travel and BayCitizen.org.

The Merce Cunningham Trust

The work of Merce Cunningham, perhaps the foremost choreographer of the 20th century, is represented by the Merce Cunningham Trust. Larson Associates created this website for the Trust's launch, along with a supporting database and interactive search tool cataloguing Cunningham's work and performance history. The site is built on the Mura open source content management system.

Carnegie Hall/Emerson String Quartet

When the world-renowned Emerson String Quartet was featured in a set of master classes focusing on the string quartets of Bela Bartok, they were taped in a high quality multi-camera shoot. Larson Associates created a web-mediated application that allows the user to follow along with the performances along with the full score of Bartok's masterpieces.

Theatre Bay Area

Theatre Bay Area, the San Francisco/Bay Area's premiere arts service organization, required a comprehensive overhaul of their web and database strategies. Larson Associates combined their 5 existing enterprise databases (in Access, MySQL and SQL Server) into a single enterprise entity and built a web site and ecommerce engine tying it together. The website was built using the CommonSpot CMS.

Carnegie Hall/Schubert Late Sonatas

The legendary pianist Leon Fleischer conducted a series of master classes focusing on the transcendent late piano sonatas of Franz Schubert. Based on the success of the Emerson Quartet/Bartok project, Larson Associates created a web-mediated interactive application that once again allows users to follow performances, and instructions, along with a score.

Users are also able to create their own "master classes," focusing on materials of interest to them, as well as search ofr specific topics.
